Our excursion to Catania and the Cyclops Riviera is a combination of history, folklore and nature.

For your Excursion to Catania and Riviera dei Ciclopi we will take care of everything with our service. After the pick-up from your facility or from the agreed point, we will head by car towards the center of Catania where, with a tour leader, you can visit the “Piscaria”, a typical open-air fish market, immersing yourself in the tradition and in the perfumes typical of the place.

After this you’ll have about 2 hours of free time to move and visit the historic center. In fact, right next to it you can admire Piazza Duomo, with the Cathedral of Catania, “U Liotru“, which translated into Italian is the statue with the elephant, the Fontana dell’Amenano, called “l’acqua o linzolu“, Piazza Stesicoro, from which you can admire a part of the Roman Amphitheater from above, the historic Via Crociferi with its Baroque balconies, Via Etnea, where you can stroll among the beauties of Catania, trendy shops and taste typical dishes. Among these we suggest an arancino, a cannolo and a typical granita with brioche with “tuppo”.

We will then resume the excursion by car along the Riviera dei Ciclopi, towards Aci Castello, to admire, with a naturalist guide, the Norman castle built on a block of lava stone, which, together with the ancient lava present, represents the first submarine volcanic activity of Etna volcano.

Finally we will head towards Aci Trezza, an ancient fishing village, where it will be possible to see the typical Etna columnar basalts, the Lachea island and the stacks, from which some Homeric legends are born. Giovanni Verga, a Sicilian writer and playwright, was inspired by Acitrezza  to write his work “I Malavoglia”.
